Final year students presentation School for Contemporary Dance Ana Maletić
The School for Contemporary Dance Ana Maletić was founded on the core principles of modern European dance, The school today is comprised of both elementary and high school dance education. Through educational programs ranging from pre-school, to elementary to high school students it delivers a program which facilitates development towards a career of a professional contemporary dancer and also that of dance educators.
Over its 60 years since inception, the School has received numerous awards. As a member of the Croatian Association of Music and Dance Pedagogues the School participates regularly in state run competitions with award winning results. The School is a member of UNESCO’s Dance and Child International and is one of the founders of Dance and Child - daCi Croatia.
The School’s tradition is observed in the work of its past graduates who form the core of the current Croatian contemporary dance scene as well as among current active teachers who also work as contemporary dancers, choreographers, teach movement at theatre academies, or as rehabilitators in the verbatonal method, or as publicists, writers, directors, actors and dramaturges.
