Poetic Body with Milan Tomašik!
The focus of this visceral workshops is on presence and musicality of movement, articulation of body parts, foot work, spins, jumps. Milan Tomašik, co founder of internationaly acclaimed company Les Slovaks, has over 20 years of international career created a unique creative method and process.
Poetic Body deals with the ability to perform actions and tasks fully, with passion and with ease in performance. The body and mind are awakened through various physical games, the body and mind are awakened through various physical games, and the body harmonizes with the moment, the space, connecting with our inner being but also with the environment. Milan likes to work in a friendly working atmosphere, which unites and inspires through diversity. He offers a holistic approach to dance in which the application of spontaneity but also certain movements are connected, where technique meets passion and where well-being is a priority. The emphasis is on rhythm and musicality, and on the articulation of individual parts of the body, precision of performance, footwork, jumps, turns. Milan guides you through an exploration of the contrasting qualities of movement, diverse ranges of body tension, and an exploration of the connection between emotion and movement.

Rafaële Giovanola : Unthought Body
The physical encounter with an unknown way of moving and the exchange with “different” non-academically formed bodies deepened the understanding of the body and significantly enriched the choreographic work of the German-Swiss choreographer Rafaëla Giovanola and members of Cocoon Dance.Through longer, intensive, continuous periods of movement research, and working with experts from other disciplines and those who use different dance techniques, this creative process studies ways of expression that are not typically dance. The processes are experiments that explore the perception of the body, both one’s own and another’s, and no specific dramaturgical thread is followed, except for the one offered by the body. The bodies are thus transformed into something new, different, into a movement that is not only there to move the dancers but also the audience.
Glossary work / MoveApp
The study of language, as an instrument for recording, clarifying and archiving movement, is the core of the research carried out by Cocoon Dance. Since 2017, the group has been systematically developing an increasingly rich glossary with the intention of creating an open archive that will not only serve as a depository of acquired knowledge, but will be continuously studied, upgraded and shared with others through dialogue. The result of such a glossary is a special method of work that emerges from the process and that contributes to more efficient communication not only in the context of working with professional dancers but also in working with non-academic dance enthusiasts.
